Ages 6-9

Beginner Storytelling & Performance 

​

Tuesdays & Thursdays

In this class, students will bring beloved childhood stories to life through creative storytelling and performance. Using imaginative play, simple script-building, movement, and group collaboration, young performers will explore how stories move from page to stage. Students will work together to create several short live performances while building confidence, communication skills, and a love of theatre in a supportive, playful environment.​

Beginner Puppetry

Tuesdays & Thursdays

​

In this class, students will explore the art of puppetry through hands-on creation and performance. Students will design and build simple puppets, learn basic puppetry techniques, and use voice, movement, and storytelling to bring their characters to life. Through guided play and creative exploration, students will develop fine motor skills, imagination, and confidence while collaborating with peers to create short puppet scenes and performances.

Intermediate Acting & Movement​

Designed for students with some prior theatre experience, this class focuses on building acting skills through movement, ensemble work, and character development. Students will use their bodies and voices to tell stories through scene work, improvisation, and theatre games, while strengthening stage presence, confidence, and collaboration.

Intro to Stage Management​

This introductory class introduces students to the behind-the-scenes world of theatre through the basics of stage management. Students will learn how productions are organized, practice communication and teamwork skills, and explore roles such as calling cues, keeping prompt books, and supporting actors and directors. Perfect for students interested in the technical and leadership side of theatre.

​Interpreting the Past:

History, Research & Performance

In this immersive humanities course, students step into the role of historian and interpreter. Through primary sources, historical context, and character analysis, students research a real historical figure and develop a first-person interpretation or monologue. Emphasis is placed on historical accuracy, storytelling, voice, and confident oral presentation. Students learn how historians and interpreters bring the past to life—transforming research into compelling, performance-based narratives.

Designed for students with prior acting experience, this class focuses on deeper character development and scene study. Students will analyze text, explore motivation and relationships, and refine performance choices through focused rehearsal, feedback, and ensemble work.

This ensemble-based class focuses on improvisation, scene work, and collaborative performance. Students will strengthen confidence, quick thinking, and character development through theatre games, group storytelling, and devised work, while building strong ensemble skills.

Foundations of Set Design

​

Students focus on the technical side of theatre production with an emphasis on set and prop design. Using a real script as inspiration, students apply artistic and design skills to develop set concepts, create props, and learn practical techniques used to bring a production to life. The class also introduces prop management, organization, and craftsmanship within the context of a working theatre environment.

Student-Led Production

In this production-based class, students collaborate to create and produce a short performance from start to finish. Participants take on leadership roles such as directing, stage management, design, and performance while working together through the full rehearsal and production process.​​
