Beginner Puppetry, Storytelling & Performance

Thursdays

11:00AM-12:30PM

Instructors: Jacque Kilduff & Garret Roberts

In this 90-minute class, students will bring stories to life through imaginative storytelling, puppet creation, and performance. Each student will design and build their own simple puppet and develop a unique character complete with a voice, movement style, and backstory. Through guided group activities, creative play, and simple script-building, students will explore how stories move from page to stage. Class time will be intentionally divided between hands-on construction, character development, and collaborative performance work, allowing students to fully engage in the creative process from start to finish. Working as an ensemble, students will collaborate to create short puppet scenes and live performances while building confidence, communication skills, fine motor development, and a love of theatre in a supportive, playful environment.
